- If Kaiser fails to meet financial goals, members will be paid $300 per each labor goal met (up to $1,200 for four labor goals).
- If Kaiser meets financial goals, members will be paid $700 per each labor goal met (total potential payout of $2,800).
- If Kaiser strongly exceeds financial goals, members will be paid $950 per each labor goal met (total potential payout of $3,750).

- There are actually three sets of TAs here. The first is the National Agreement TAs related to the National Agreement between Kaiser and the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions. This is where most of the action is. The second is the Service and Tech Local TAs which is for the Local Agreement that covers everyone except the Medical Social Workers (MSW). The third is for the MSWs and only applies to their separate local contract. Each is separated by a cover page.
- If this is all a bunch of confusing legalese to you, don't worry about it. There will be a simple summary document that explains what each change means at the votes that start on 10/18.
- If you have questions about this, please bring them to the vote. There will be people who can answer questions at every vote.
- When you look at these documents, many can only be understood by referencing the original contracts. Without doing that, the actual change may not be clear. For example, one question we anticipate is "Where does it say the Revenue Cycle won't be outsourced?". On page 22 of this document, you'll see a signed TA that reads "The Parties Agree to Extend the September 25, 2019 Side Letter regarding Subcontracting and Outsourcing through and including September 15, 2027". Then you need to go to the expired National Agreementand turn to page E25-26 and you can see that side letter and how it says on page E26 "During the term of this Agreement, Kaiser Permanente will not subcontract existing jobs and functions currently performed by Coalition-represented employees at any Kaiser Permanente campus or facility. In addition, this limitation applies to the following categories, regardless of whether the work is performed at Kaiser Permanente campus or facility: 1. Revenue Cycle functions, including but not limited to Medical Records, Medical Coding and Patient Billing". The side letter goes on to talk about outsourcing and refers back to the same list of groups and says Kaiser cannot outsource them.
- If an issue is not addressed in one of the TAs in this packet, then it didn't change. So, for example, if you are wondering, "What changed with our rights to take a medical leave?" or "Did our pension get better or worse?" The answers are "nothing" and "neither". There is no TA covering those issues, therefore there is no change.
- Finally, what sometimes happens when people get all the information before the vote is that people who are upset are motivated to come vote NO, while people who are generally satisfied say to themselves, "Well it seems good so I'll go on with my busy day and not worry about it". If you want a 6% raise and a $1500 ratification bonus and protections for the Revenue Cycle and everything else in this agreement, do not take the vote for granted. Make sure you and all your co-workers come and vote YES.
